Executive Council Resolution

| The 66th General Convention of the Episcopal Church, USA met in Denver, CO, in July 1979. Prior to the General Convention, the Executive Council passed the following Resolution relating to the environment: |
Support for Efforts to Resolve the Energy Crisis |

Executive Council Resolution EXC041977.12 Whereas, The energy crisis is one of unprecedented proportions to the citizens of the United States, and indeed, of the entire world; and Whereas, It is the duty of all citizens to address themselves to an urgent effort to resolve this crisis to the ultimate benefit of all mankind; and Whereas, It is the especial duty and moral responsibility of Christians to be good stewards of all of God's gifts to mankind; therefore, be i Resolved, That the Executive Council commend the President of the United States for focusing the attention of the World on the energy crisis, and for his initiatives in starting the process of resolving this crisis; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council urge the President and the Congress to proceed without delay:

Network (EpEN) is a national network of active lay
and clergy persons within the Episcopal
Church, USA, who share a common concern for the environment
and a common belief in the presence of God in all Creation and
who work to make these concerns and beliefs known throughout all
Provinces and Dioceses within the church. Members come from
around the Episcopal
Church, USA. The activities of the EpEN are focused
on the areas of Reflection, Education, and Action. For more information, click on the links on the left. |
